Phase-1: Process study and feasibility analysis

This project dealt with automating the process of manufacturing wire harnesses for Volvo trucks. The first phase dealt with study of various components involved and understanding the different processes that go into making a complete wire harness. Study various processes like cutting, crimping, splicing, taping and understand the bottlenecks that could be automated.

Phase-2: Prototyping and concept design

Once I understood the project essentials and processes, I was responsible for prototyping and designing a layout consisting of single purpose machines, robots and humans.
